I have some concerns about the All-on-4 process. Is it painful?

Having an All-on-4 dental implant is actually not as painful as what you are led to believe. Before the procedure is started, you are asked to choose whether a local anesthesia or an IV sedation. Moreover, dentists who provide all-on-4 implant have done extensive training, research and years of experience to make sure that the process is fast, easy and as painless as possible. Many patients were surprised that it is not as painful as they thought it was.

Questions Before Getting All-on-4 Implants

What Happens During The Procedure?

On the day of the surgery, your oral surgeon will take impressions of the patient’s teeth to identify where the four implants should be placed. The procedure is performed using a local anesthetic, which is safer for the patient. In some cases, patients will require either sedation or general anesthetic. You should talk to your oral surgeon before you undergo any dental procedure.

Where are All-on-4 implants made?

The dental implants and your new set of teeth is made in the lab by our in-house professional technician. We can also customize implants and prosthetic with promising results. All the parts of this procedure starting from consultation, to follow up are done in the same office location.

How Long Will The All-on-4 Procedure Take?

The procedure, completed by a implant dentist,  for an all-on-4 would take approximately 2 hours and thirty minutes per arch. Patients are then allowed to go home after the procedure complete with a temporary set of teeth to be replaced. The permanent teeth is placed once the jawbone and gums are done healing from a surgery. This process will take roughly six to eight months.

What Are The Benefits of All-on-4 Dental Restorations?

Most of the time, patients will only need four implants to support a set of the patient’s new teeth. The implants are secured tight into the patient’s jaw and at an angle. This increases the security of the implant in the patient’s jawbone and minimizing the chance of having a bone graft.

Advantages of All-on-4 implants:

  • Does not need to be removed.
  • Can be flossed and brushed just like your own set of teeth.
  • Do not need a dental glue to stick the implants in place.
  • Acts more like a natural teeth than an artificial one.
  • Does not have any eating restrictions.

The all-on-4 dental implant breathes new life to patients suffering from tooth loss without any discomfort or inconvenience. It enhances life of the patient by letting them consume whatever food the desire, increase their confidence levels and eliminate oral discomfort.
